New ChurchCategorie: New Church
The New Church has a wonderful array of copper chandeliers. Although they are fairly recent, these ornamental lamps were produced entirely according to 17th century artisan techniques.
The New Church was probably lit with chandeliers way back in its earliest days. The Old Church certainly was, until the lights were sold to pay for the restoration following the fire of 1921... It is not clear how the New Church lost its original lights. But the current ones were given as a gift in 1981 to mark the New Church's 600th anniversary.
