As well as the colourful windows, impressive marble mausoleums and beautiful organs, the interior of the Old Church also features a series of seven large name boards?

Centuries-old tradition
The boards list in chronological order the names of all the ministers who have served the Reformed Municipality of Delft since 1572. This is a custom found in other churches too. It is a way to honour predecessors, in line with the Biblical directive to ‘Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you'. It is also an expression of gratitude for the fact that we have had the freedom to share the word of God for centuries, and that we continue to do so here in the Old Church, every Sunday.
